Hi, I'm Dana — one of the few people behind Samasem, a zaatar company. I take zaatar seriously. Like, embarrassingly seriously.
Zaatar is perhaps the very thing that underlines our heritage — our Arabness. The thing that brought us together before borders existed. It has crowded our tables for generations, and it deserves to be made right.
Samasem is my grandmother's blend — her proportions, her instincts, her ingredients. Sourced directly from farmers in Jordan and Palestine.
No shortcuts. Just zaatar the way it's supposed to taste.
My hope is that by delivering Real Zaatar to you, we can share a little of that with the world — and maybe come a little closer to each other.
